Meet Recap

The Varsity A men’s cross country team finished 2nd out of 32 teams at the prestigious Tiffin Cross Country Carnival on Saturday. There were 220 runners in the race. Jake Wickert led the charge with a new personal record of 16:07 which netted him 15th place. One place behind Jake was Alex Stamper with a 16:08. In 18th place was Zach Robertson in 16:13. Looking great in 20th was Caleb Cummings (16:18). Rounding out the scoring was Harry Custer in 37th place (16:340. Our other two runners in the race were Alex Loeper (51st – 16:47) and Ryan Oleksiak with a new personal record of 16:57 which earned him 69th place.

The Varsity B team finished 7th out of 35 teams. They were led by Jeff Hurst and his personal best of 17:29. Noah McKee ran to a 17:47. On his heels was Tyler Bohmer in 17:49. Others in the race were: Alan Dravenstott (18:00), Graham Hayden (18:07), Blake Butsko (18:07), and Michael Palocko (18:14).

In the Open Race there were over 600 runners. Patrick Quallich was 4th in 17:49. Bryce Vein looked sharp with his new best of 18:30. Some others in the race were Kevin Horrigan (18:30), Clay Cerny (18:30), Nate Swindell (18:31), Charlie Heidenger (18:34), Carter Kolesar (18:34), Eli Schmeller (18:36), Alec Martell (18:39), and Cameron Shontzler (18:42).

The team will race at two different meets next Saturday. The Varsity and JV teams race at the Trinity Valkyrie Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky while the Open runners will be at the Galion Invitational.
