Game Recap
The Medina Battling Bees Boys Soccer team opened their 2013 season in front of a packed Memorial Stadium and a full force Medina Swarm tonight vs Akron St. Vincent St. Mary. An organized and diligent effort produced two goals for the Medina team.
A first half combination from Two Senior Captains saw the Bees take the lead with a fantastic finish from Tommy Lear on the heels of a pass from Aaron Liezert. The Bees remained diligent in defense as Senior Goalkeeper Dean McNeil was forced to make just 4 relatively simple saves on the night. In the second half the Bees again got some help from Tommy Lear as he played a wonderful ball through the middle to Senior Brandon Hough who showed his strength to shoulder off the St. Vincent St Mary defense and calmly slot the second goal home for Medina.
The Bees Junior Varsity team convincingly dispatched the Akron St. Vincent St Mary team 6-0 on the night.
Next up for the Bees is Shaker Heights at Home on Tues. 5pm and 7pm.
