Medina High School
Elyria High School
The Bees (6-7, 4-4) bench players stepped up in the first half to keep this GCC game within reach, as the Pioneers were initially more aggressive and won 50-50 balls. After some halftime adjustments, Medina played solid defense to hold Elyria to just 11 second half points and, for the game, the Bees connected on 21-of-24 free throws (88%).
Delaney Cullen stepped up to run the team, tallying 16 points/4 rebounds/3 assists/2 blocks. Anna Marie Smith (7 points), Emma Bobey (6 points), Amanda Holzman (5 points/6 rebounds), Abby Teske (5 points) also contributed. Abby McMullen, Madison Luthy, Lindsey Linard and Payton Beech each gave the team a boost in the scoring column as well.
This coming week, Medina will travel to Revere on Wednesday night and host Massillon Jackson at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday afternoon prior to the Cavs-Suns game.
