Bees News · MCS Athletics Update & FAQs

On April 30th, the OHSAA extended the current interscholastic athletics non-contact period through May 31st.  The OHSAA has provided a helpful FAQ sheet regarding the non-contact period.  We encourage parents and student-athletes to review this document.  As a reminder, this non-contact period applies to ALL interscholastic teams, not just spring sports.

On April 29th, the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) issued an order closing all schools and school facilities to K-12 students through June 30th.  All MCS athletic facilities (including Dukes Stadium, Memorial Stadium, fields, batting cages, etc.) are closed per this order.

We will provide more information on what potential training might be in the month of June if the OHSAA non-contact period expires on May 31st, however, the OHSAA has indicated that they will keep the non-contact period in place for as long as the ODH order on closure of school facilities is in place.

We have updated our Athletics FAQ sheet with the most recent information, including the new details about spring pay-to-participate reimbursements:  Please take a moment to review these updates.  Fall student-athletes, please pay close attention to the guidance regarding fall sports academic eligibility.  At this time, all OHSAA eligibility requirements are still in place for 2020 fall sports.

Please feel free to email Mr. Hodkey ( with questions regarding high school athletics, and Mr. Harper ( with questions regarding middle school athletics.

Take care.  Stay safe.  Stay healthy.  Go Bees!
