Game Recap

The varsity boys soccer team defeated Olmsted Falls 3-0 in an OHSAA Regional Semifinal match at Brunswick High School on Wednesday evening. Andy Prostor recorded the hat trick for Medina with a superb goal in the first half and two other perfect headers in the second half. The headers were made possible by two impressive crosses from Parker and Gavin Csiszar.

The Bees (14-1-5) beat the Bulldogs for the 2nd year in a row to once again advance to the Elite 8. They will now have another rematch with Sylvania Northview in the Regional Finals on Saturday. The time and location are still to be determined.

Game Recap

The varsity boys soccer team defeated Copley 2-0 in an OHSAA District Final on Saturday evening at North Royalton High School. It was the fifth consecutive District Final between the two schools. The Bees had goals from freshman Steve Samuelson and Ian Gummo. Alex Stan and Tyler Glasenapp combined for the shutout.

Medina (13-1-5) won its third consecutive District Championship and will once again advance to the Regional Semifinals. The Bees will face Olmsted Falls on Wednesday evening at Brunswick High School. The two teams met in the Regional Semis last year with Medina coming out on top. The rematch is set to start at 7 pm.

Meet Recap

The Medina Boys’ Cross Country team finished 3rd out of 23 teams at the Boardman Regional Meet on Saturday. The team was led by the 1-2-3 punch of Jake Wickert in 10th place (16:07), Alex Stamper in 13th (16:10) and Zach Robertson finishing in 25th place (16:24). Rounding out the top five runners who figured into the scoring were Caleb Cumming (63rd place – 16:58) and Alex Loeper (60th place – 17:02). The other two varsity runners in the race were Harry Custer whose timeof 17:07 earned him 80th place and Jeff Hurst who personal record of 17:27 gave him 112th place.

This coming Saturday the team finishes out their season with the State Meet which is in Hebron (just east of Columbus) at National Trail Raceway. The boys will be racing at 3:00 p.m. This will be their 12th appearance at the State Meet in the last 14 years!

Meet Recap

The varsity girls cross country team finished in 2nd place at the Division I Boardman Regional Meet on Saturday afternoon. Medina finished behind only Hudson and will advance to the State Meet next weekend.

Juliette Keller finished in 2nd place overall as an individual and only 10 seconds behind the individual champion from Solon. All five runners that scored for Medina finished in the Top 40 overall.

Game Recap

The varsity football team closed out the season with an impressive victory over Solon 38-28 on Friday night. Dylan Fultz had a terrific game as he finished with 133 yards rushing on 20 carries and two rushing TDs. He also threw for 102 yards and two TD passes to Chris Kelly. The defense was also strong all night as it added an interception return for a TD by Anthony Lebada. Andrew Horton chipped in with a 34 yard FG in the 4th quarter.

The Battling Bees finish the regular season at 4-6 and 3-4 in the GCC. It was Medina’s first victory over the Comets in 13 years.

Medina finished the season at 15-2-2. Both losses came at the hands of the Strongsville Mustangs.
