Game Recap

The varsity boys soccer team fell to Beavercreek 1-0 in the OHSAA Division I Championship Game on Saturday evening at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus. The Beavers scored the golden goal early in the 2nd overtime.

The Battling Bees finish the season at 16-2-5 and will bring the State Runner-Up trophy back home to Medina.

Game Recap

The varsity boys soccer team defeated St. Ignatius 2-0 in an OHSAA State Semifinal contest on Wednesday evening at Nordonia High School. The first score of the night came in the 1st half off of an own goal by the Wildcats. The goal that sealed the victory came from freshman Cole Werthmuller with just under five minutes left in the match. Tyler Glasenapp posted another shutout for the Bees.

Medina improves to 16-1-5 on the season and will advance to play in the school’s first ever Boys Soccer State Championship. The Battling Bees will face Beavercreek for the Division I title on Saturday evening at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus. The match is scheduled to start at 7 pm.

Girls Varsity Cross Country · Medina High School Girls Varsity Cross Country finishes 12th place

Meet Recap

The girls cross country team finished in 12th place at the Division I OHSAA State Meet on Saturday afternoon. The team was led by Juliette Keller who finished in 6th place overall as an individual with a time of 18 minutes flat. The scoring was rounded out by Olivia Roberts (55th overall), Angela Dobson (104th), Ava Tenaglia (116th), and Maddie Miller (118th). Jessica Campbell helped the team win the tiebreaker over Troy for 12th place by finishing in 137th place overall.

Juliette Keller once again earned All-Ohio honors with her finish on Saturday at the National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.

Game Recap

The varsity boys soccer team defeated Sylvania Northview 1-0 in an OHSAA Regional Final at Sandusky High School on Saturday afternoon. Ian Gummo scored the lone goal for Medina when he cleaned up a shot from Andy Prostor early in the 2nd half. Alex Stan and Tyler Glasenapp once again combined for the shutout in goal.

The Bees improve to 15-1-5 on the season and will now advance to the OHSAA State Semifinals for the 2nd year in a row. Medina will face St. Ignatius in the Final Four, the same team that defeated them on a penalty kick in overtime last year. The match will be at Nordonia High School on Wednesday night at 7 pm.
