Chris Hassinger

Coach Hassinger graduated from Wadsworth High School where he played basketball and baseball. He went on to play four years of basketball at Wayne College, earning his undergrad and Masters Degree in Physical Education.   Chris has taught and coached in Medina for 23 years, coaching at A.I. Root Middle School, at Claggett Middle School, multiple years as JV boys and head assistant basketball, and head girls basketball coach in addition to his current status as boys head coach. Along with coaching basketball, he coached girls volleyball for 11 years and was head assistant for the most successful girls volleyball team in school history.

Coach Hass has also been part of many successes with boys and girls basketball. While coaching girls, he lead them to 3 straight conference championships which consists of 3 out of the programs 8 total championships. With the boys program he has won 3 out of the 5 District Championships in school history. One as a head coach and two as an assistant. 

While on the floor success is very important, Chris is more proud of his team’s successes off the court. His players are continually working hard to make an impact on the community and others. Players and managers show great leadership and have participated in multiple activities to give back to their community.
