The Bees will advance to the District Tournament for the sixth year in a row thanks to a group effort and strong defensive performance on Thursday night. Medina topped the Bedford Bearcats 51-14 despite leading just 6-4 after one quarter of play. The team then went on a 32-0 run to put the game away. 11 of 15 active players scored in the game, and all made key contributions to earn another victory on the home court.

The Bees (17-6) were led by Hailey Tripp with a team-high 11 points and sparked by the play of Alyssa Johnson, Leora Owings & Shannon Wojciak off the bench. Johnson and Owings combined for 10 steals, 10 rebounds, 8 points.

In limited minutes, Lindsey Linard totaled 8 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists and Sarah McKee added 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks. Elizabeth Stuart posted 6 points in the first half and Haley Letner chipped in 4.

Medina will square off against GCC rival Solon on Tuesday night in the District Semi’s at 6pm at Valley Forge. Medina is the #2 seed and Solon is the #3 seed. The teams split results this season and shared the GCC Conference title.
