The Bees earned a big win at Brunswick on Wednesday night, defeating the Blue Devils on their home court by a score of 44-40. The win – combined with a loss by Solon – put the Bees back in first place in the GCC with 2 games remaining. Medina is now 14-4, 10-2 on the season.

Battling injuries and sickness, Medina held a lead throughout until Brunswick took a brief lead with four minutes left in the game. The Bees then got a crucial basket on a Elizabeth Stuart-to-Lindsey Linard connection, some stops on defense including 6 blocked shots by Linard, and expert face guarding by Leora Owings. Plus, just enough smart offensive plays and free throws to seal the win.

The Bees were led by sophomore point guard Hailey Tripp, who had a career-high 14 points off the bench. Shannon Wojciak posted 8 rebounds/5 points, while Regan Todia (5 points, 2 assists, strong defense) and Haley Letner (5 points, 4 rebounds) made an impact. Owings and Alyssa Johnson added key buckets while Stuart connected on a three-pointer in the 3rd Q that made her the all-time leader in Medina Girls Basketball history for 3’s made in a career. She passes Delaney Cullen for the top spot.

Medina travels to North Canton Hoover on Monday.
