Medina trailed after the 1st and 2nd quarters in this closely contested non-conference game, but rallied in the second half by attacking the rim, getting defensive stops and knocking down free throws. The Bees cranked it up a few notches defensively and held the Arcs to just 5 points in the 3rd quarter and 4-of-24 shooting in the second half.
Sarah McKee (18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 1 assist) scored all 10 of Medina’s points in the opening stanza. Shannon Wojciak added 8 points/5 rebounds, Hailey Tripp tallied 6 points/3 rebounds and Elizabeth Stuart posted 7 points/2 assists.
Aly Dwyer filled up her stat sheet with 5 assists, 2 points, 2 steals, 2 rebounds, 1 block while Mylie Roberts (2 points, 2 rebounds), Kayla Joyner (3 steals) , Leora Owings, Regan Todia, Ella Silvis and Kate Bobey contributed off the bench.
Medina is now 7-4 and will focus on GCC games from here. The team will host Strongsville on Saturday night at The Hive.
