The No. 1 seed Medina Bees jumped out to a 23-2 lead after one quarter on Thursday night and went on to defeat #9 Brecksville 51-39. Medina (21-2) advances to the District Semifinals vs. #4 Magnificat on Monday, Feb. 25.

The Bees didn’t find much consistency after the opening stanza, but used a big first quarter and some hustle plays by Katie Neate, Alexa Nau and Lindsey Linard to set the pace. Medina was led by Linard’s 11 points, 7 rebounds. Scoring 8 points apiece were Alexa Nau, Elizabeth Stuart and Abby McMullen. Neate chipped in 5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 1 assist and 1 block on the night as well. Olivia Bowser provided good minutes off the bench with 2 points, 2 rebounds.
