The Medina Bees ended one of the best seasons in school history with a 49-28 loss in the Norwalk Regional Semi’s. The Bees finished 23-3, tying the school record for wins in a season and advanced to Regionals for the first time in 26 years. The Bees also went 18-0 to start the year and won the KSA Holiday Tournament in Orlando.
Against Toledo Notre Dame, Medina struggled with pressure in the opening period and never got into a rhythm on offense, but the team limited Notre Dame in the middle quarters by switching up their defense. Katie Neate set the tone for Bees all over the court and Lindsey Linard was tough inside with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 7 blocks.
Madison Luthy, Alexa Nau & Sarah McKee each chipped in 5 pts while Elizabeth Stuart added 4, Rowan McDonald added 2 and Abby McMullen grabbed 6 rebounds. Olivia Bowser, Erin Wojciak, Hailey Tripp, Angela Piloseno, Mia Buzzelli, Hailey Seguin & Haley Letner contributed off the bench and Aly Dwyer (injured) was there every step of the way.
The Bees graduate 9 seniors from this year’s roster: McMullen, Luthy, Nau, Neate, Seguin, Bowser, Piloseno, Buzzelli, Wojciak. Thank you to those players for their commitment, effort, hard work and for representing Medina these last 4 years!
Medina went a combined 61-9 during 2018-19 for all three levels of the girls basketball program (V: 23-3, JV: 19-3, FR: 19-3). Excellent job ladies!
