The varsity football team defeated the #1 seeded Saint Edward Eagles in an OHSAA Division I Regional Quarterfinal game hosted by Elyria High School on Friday night. The Battling Bees played hard and executed all night to bring back home the victory to Medina. Dorian Boyland ran the ball 16 times for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. QB Drew Allar finished the game 15-for-26 for 262 yards and 3 TD passes. Luke Hensley made 5 catches for 63 yards and 3 TD receptions, while Jajuan Jackson had 3 catches for 94 yards and an interception on the defensive side of the ball.

With the Eagles driving late in the game, Matt Spatny stripped the ball carrier and the Battling Bee pounced on it to secure one of the biggest wins in Medina football history.

Medina improves to 5-3 overall on the season. The Battling Bees will now advance to the Regional Semifinals next week as one of only 16 teams remaining in Division I. They will take on the #5 seed Saint Ignatius Wildcats on Friday night at a location still to be determined.
