The varsity football team defeated Brunswick 45-35 on Friday night to clinch its 4th playoff berth in school history. Sophomore QB Drew Allar completed 22-of-41 passes for 323 yards and a Medina County-record-tying 5 touchdown passes. He has also ran 14 times for 114 yards and a TD. Senior Jake Nanosky finished with 10 catches for 124 yards and a school-record-tying 4 TD receptions. Senior Evan Storey had 4 catches for 82 yards, sophomore Matt Spatny had 5 receptions for 78 yards and a TD, and senior Jacob Kasmarcak caught 4 passes for 48 yards.

The Battling Bees finish the regular season at 7-3 overall and 4-3 in the GCC. Medina has not been to the playoffs since 2016. They will be the #7 seed in Division I, Region I and wait to find out where they will travel next Friday. Either Saint Edward or Canton McKinley are the likely opponents.
